We celebrated the mass of the Ascension at the Shrine. The service was well organized for the many tourists attending. It had been a couple years since we had stopped for a visit. The Shrine continues to add embellishments.

One of our favorite stops when we come to DC. When we lived in Cheverly, it was a regular for family outings. The place is much more 'people walking friendly' and there were a lot more people actually walking rather than driving their cars.

Another favorite stop of ours in DC! Free museums and great 'open' space [except for parking space!]. The weather was fantastic -- bright, sunny and not too hot.

We stopped for dinner at a Mexican/Italian restaurant in SE. More Mexican than Italian. Food was good and the beer very cold.
